For its 2017 Health and Safety results, the Québec Mining Association’s (QMA) awarded CMM the F.J. O’Connell Trophy in the Surface, transportation and primary metal processing operations category. The criteria for the award of the trophy consider improvements in a company’s safety record, its record compared to the industry average, and its combined accident frequency rate based on specified target values.
The Québec Mining Association’s 53rd annual Health and Safety Symposium, held on September 19, 2017, recognized the efforts of 12 CMM supervisors and those of their teams to achieve between 50,000 and 450,000 consecutive hours without a lost-time accident.
